Here comes the bride…and she’s got a camera! Sierra Boggess, star of the upcoming Broadway musical It Shoulda Been You, is Broadway.com’s latest video blogger. That’s right: You loved her jellicle dance parties, inspirational mantras and Club Christine meetings on Daae Days, and now the Broadway fave is back for more hijinks. Look out for her new series, Going Bridal: Backstage at It Shoulda Been You with Sierra Boggess.
For her second time as a Broadway.com vlogger, the Olivier nominee and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner will lead us through the rehearsal process and performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Expect appearances from her starry onstage wedding party, including David Burtka, Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris and Lisa Howard.
Boggess most recently appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera. She also headlined the show in Las Vegas and in London for the show’s 25th anniversary. She reprised her performance as Christine in the Phantom sequel Love Never Dies in the West End. Her additional credits include The Little Mermaid and Master Class on Broadway and Les Miserables in London.
Featuring music by Barbra Anselmi and a book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove, It Shoulda Been You follows a Jewish bride as she readies to marry her Catholic boyfriend. When the bride’s ex-boyfriend shows up, the perfect wedding starts to unravel, leaving the sister of the bride to turn a tangled mess into happily ever after. Tony winner David Hyde Pierce directs.
Going Bridal will premiere on March 5 and run every Thursday for eight weeks.
